Julia
March is a skin care therapist who specializes in facials
exclusively. She is a dedicated professional who is committed
to deliver exceptional service to her clients not just the first
time, but every time. Julia believes that a work done with an open loving
heart and attitude makes a world of a difference.
Her fascination with skin care began at early age when she learned eastern
European beauty secrets from her grandmother, her first teacher. "She
used to scold me for being on the sun for too long and treated my sunburns
with sour cream and honey and oat milk mask afterwards. Her warning,
'Nobody is going to marry you if you have freckles' proved incorrect,
but her enchantment with the skin became mine as well," Julia remarks.
Her
continued interest in beauty care led her to the oldest esthetic school
in NYC, Christine Valmy International School of Aesthetics.
She also attended the Dermologica Institute (NYC) and was
trained in Medical
Esthetics by Anna-Dee Rinehart, a pioneer in medical esthetics.
From June 2000 until July 2002 she was the senior aesthetician at
one of the most prestigious salons in NYC where she offered treatments
to celebrities, models and editors including Brigitte Hill, Eva Herzigova,
Liv Tyler, Miranda Brooks and others. She began her own practice in
Soho in September 2002. Her clientele consists of sophisticated businesswomen,
models and socialites like Nian Fish, Natane Bordeau (actress and
model), River Lloyd (celebrity hairstylist), Allison Jacobs (writer
and director, Uptown Girls) and others.
Julia believes that skin is as unique as the face it covers and that
one formula does not fit all. That’s why each treatment is custom tailored
to fit the client’s needs, which vary according to skin type, skin
conditions and seasonality. As a result of Julia’s vast experience
and knowledge she created an effective results-oriented skin care program.
Dynamic Skin Assessment is a powerful diagnostic tool she developed
to help her perfect each treatment. Each of her facials includes numerous
procedures that work synergistically to produce amazing results. Every
session consists of an intensive enzyme and/or other exfoliation treatment,
which is combined with special massage techniques to increase blood circulation
and oxygenation of the skin cells, and stimulation of the lymphatic system
to rid the face of toxins. Treatments are finished with a soothing hand,
arm, neck and shoulder massage and relaxing foot reflexology.
Julia’s philosophy of beauty reduces to one principle: beauty is
a process of destressing and rejuvenation that covers the whole being,
including the body (nourish it), the mind (respect it), and the soul (touch
it). When all three aspects are in harmony the client looks
good on the outside and feels good on the inside resulting in skin that
glows with renewed radiance.
